Northgate Primary School, West Sussex

Northgate Primary School is a community primary school catering for children aged 3 to 11 (year groups Nursery to Year 6). A larger-than-average primary school, Northgate has a Sensory Support Centre (SSC) for deaf children - with provision for up to 14 pupils with hearing impairments - which is maintained by West Sussex Special Education Service.

The works included the installation of a new Bauderflex Roof System to five individual roof areas at the Northgate Primary School. As the works were to take place whilst the School was in use we focused upon maintaining close liaison with the School management team. Deliveries were scheduled to avoid highlighted busy times (notably times of pupils, staff and parents accessing and egressing the site) and scaffold was erected such that we were able to move materials to the roof areas without entering designated play areas. The works were inclusive of the replacement / infilling of existing rooflights.
