Quad North, Halsbury Building, Brunel University

The works involved the preparation of the existing Quad Roof area for the overlay installation of a new Garland StressPly Flex Plus waterproof system (25-year guarantee across approximately 2,300m²).

All scaffolding was erected to meet with current Health & Safety Regulations and erected by our approved scaffolding sub-contractor. The existing handrails were removed, and a hoist for the movement of materials to the roof area installed. Prior to the installation of the new waterproofing system the existing plant on the roof area was temporarily decommissioned and set aside by the Client’s nominated contractor. Upon the completion of the roofing works a new lightning protection system was installed and the existing handrail (approx. 267lm) reinstated.

Owing to the busy nature of the site and its central location all deliveries were programmed in advance with the Client and scheduled for outside of peak hours. Order plans and programmes were issued to the supply chain ensuring that they were able to meet and co-ordinate with resource requirements on time.
